Refund Card Balance

Your chip card with Autoload function cannot be found anymore or was possibly stolen? Would you like to get the balance of your Autoload card refunded to your bank account?

Then carry out the following steps:

1. Call up the card service portal to block the lost/stolen card

A credit refund is not possible for unblocked cards. Please first call up the Autoload service portal and log in to the portal with your card number and card PIN that you received when you registered for Autoload. If you no longer have the password, you can have it recreated on the University of Mannheim campus at the Studierendenwerk information desk.

A password can also be re-issued at the other campuses at the card service points of the universities or in the cafeterias (cash desk) of the Studierendenwerk. As an alternative to the Autoload portal, you can also have your card blocked at the Infothek, the card service points or at the cafeteria cash desks by presenting your bank card.

Please note that blocking your card in the Autoload portal only cancels the wallet function and the Autoload function. If you lose your university student ID card, please also contact the respective university to have any other functions contained on the chip card, e.g. access authorisations etc., blocked.

2. Enter the chip card number to initiate the refund

The credit will be refunded to your bank account at the earliest 14 days after you have requested the refund here.

Important: Once the credit has been refunded, the payment function of the chip card can no longer be unblocked.

If the card is found within the 14-day period, please have it unblocked at a card service centre. The refund of the remaining credit will be cancelled.
