Statutory health insurance covers the costs of various therapy methods. These are psychoanalytic psychotherapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, behaviour therapy and systemic therapy administered by a licenced psychotherapist who is entitled to invoice Germany’s statutory health insurance fund. A good way to start your search is the webpage of the Kassenärztliche Bundesvereinigung (National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians). After an initial search for „Psychotherapie“ with your postcode you can click „Weitere Suchkritierien“ to select „Fremdsprachen“ and choose English or a different language.

When looking for a psychotherapist, you can also consider outpatient clinics for the training of psychological psychotherapists. We have listed examples of outpatient clinics in Mannheim below.
